第五章 審判列國(I)
耶和華有關列國的話臨到先知耶利米說:
I. 埃及(46:1-28):
猶大王約西亞之子約雅敬第四年, 巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒於幼發拉底河的迦基米施擊敗
埃及法老尼哥恃時, 耶和華說:
(I) 法老必敗(46:1-12):
3 備好你們的大小盾牌, Prepare your shields, both large and small,
勇往上戰場! and march out for battle!
4 套好戰馬, 騎上駿馬! Harness the horses, mount the steeds!
戴好頭盔, 就戰鬥位! Take your positions with helmets on!
擦亮長槍, 穿好鐵甲! Polish your spears, put on your armor!
5 我看見甚麼? What do I see?
他們驚惶, 節節敗退, They are terrified, they are retreating,
勇士挫敗, 抱頭鼠竄, their warriors are defeated, They flee in haste without looking back,
驚慌恐懼, 草木皆兵," and there is terror on every side,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declare the Lord.
6 "快跑者逃不掉, "The swift cannot flee
強壯的逃不脫. nor the strong escape.
就在大河北岸, in the north by the River Euphrates
全軍仆倒覆沒. they stumble and fall.
7 誰興起來像 "Who is this that rises like the Nile,
like rivers of surging waters?
8 埃及興起像 Egypt rises like the Nile,
波濤洶湧尼羅河. like rivers of surging waters.
她說: '我必興起覆蓋全地, She says, 'I will rise and cover the earth;
還要毀滅城邑和人民.' I will destroy cities and their people.'
9 戰馬啊, 向前衝! Charge, O horses!
戰車啊, 猛向前! Drive furiously, O charioteers!
手持盾牌的古實人以及弗人, March on. O warriors -
和拉弓射箭的呂底亞勇士啊; men of Cush and Put who carry shields,
勇往直前! Men of Lydia who draw the bow.
10 那是主萬軍之耶和華的日子, But that day belongs to the Lord, the Lord Almighty -
也就是祂向仇敵報仇的日子. a day of vengeance, for vengeance on his foes.
刀劍必大口吞噬, The sword will devour till it is satisfied,
飽餐他們的肉, 痛飲他們的血. till it has quenched its thirst with blood.
因主萬軍之耶和華 For the Lord, the Lord Almighty, will offer sacrifice
要在大河北岸獻祭. in the land of the north by the River Euphrates.
11 埃及的眾百姓啊! "Go up to Gilead and get balm,
快上基列取乳香. O virgin Daughter of Egypt.
可惜百藥都罔效, But your multiply remedies in vain;
你們都無可救藥. there is no healing for you.
12 列國都聞你 恥辱, The nations will hear of your shame;
哭聲哀號滿全地, your cries will fill the earth.
勇士蹣跚互相撞, One warrior will stumble over another;
四腳朝天同跌倒. both will fall down together."
(II) 巴王攻埃(46:13-26):
耶和華對先知耶利米所說有關巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒要攻打埃及的話, 你們要:
14 在埃及宣揚, 在密奪宣告, Anounce this in Egypt, and proclaim it in Migdol;
在孟斐斯和答比匿宣稱: proclaim it also to Memphis and Tahpanhes:
"就好陣地, 做好準備; "Take your positions and get ready,
因刀劍要吞噬周圍的人!" for the sword devours those around you."
15 你們的勇士為何屈身? Why will your warriors be laid low?
因耶和華把他們推倒, 不能站立. They cannot stand, for the Lord will push them down.
16 他們不斷撞跌, They will stumble repeatedly;
彼此倒在－起. they will fall over each other.
他們會說: '起來吧! They will say, 'Get up, let us go back
讓我們遠離欺壓者刀劍, to our own people and our native lands,
回到本族故土去.' away from the sword of the oppressor.'
17 他們會在那裏高喊: There they will exclaim,
"埃及 "Pharaoh king of Egypt is only a loud noise;
他已失去大好機會." he has missed his opportunity."
18 名叫萬軍之耶和華的大君王宣示:"As surely as I live," declares the King,
"我指著我的永生起誓: whose name is the Lord Almighty.
必有一位要來, "one will come
像群山中的他泊山, who is like Tabor among the mountains,
又像海邊的迦密山. like Carmel by the sea.
19 住在埃及地的人啊! Pack your belongings for exile,
收拾家當準備逃亡; you who live in Egypt,
因孟斐斯將變荒涼, for Memphis will be laid waste
成為廢墟無人居住. and lie in ruins without inheritant.
20 埃及是頭美好小母牛, Egypt is a beautiful heifer,
但北方牛虻要來侵擾. but a gadfly is coming against her from the north.
21 僱佣兵如欄中小肥牛, The mercenaries in her ranks are like fattened calves.
也調頭一同飛奔逃跑, They too will turn and flee together,
他們無力去守住陣地; they will not stand their ground,
因災難之日臨到他們, for the day of disaster is coming upon them,
是他們該受懲罰時候. the time for them to be punished.
22 敵人的大軍強力前進時, Egypt will hiss like a fleeting serpent
埃及像逃命大蟒發嘶聲; as the enemy advance in force;
他們手持大斧像砍樹人, they will come against her with axes, like men who cut down trees.
23 －心想要砍盡林間樹木. They will chop down her forest,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declare the Lord.
"儘管林木茂密如天塹, "dense though it be.
來敵如蝗蟲多不勝數. They are more numerous than locusts, they cannot be counted.
24 埃及的子民受盡羞辱, The Daughter of Egypt will put to shame,
盡交在北方人的手中." handed over to the people of the north."
萬軍之耶和華以色列的神說: "我將要懲罰挪神亞捫、法老和埃及諸神諸王、以及
依靠法老的人. 並把他們交在追索他們性命的人, 即巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒和他臣宰的手中.
但以後埃及還是跟往昔一樣, 有人居住." 耶和華這樣宣示.
27 "雅各我的僕人啊! 不要懼怕; "Do not fear , O Jacob my servant;
以色列啊! 不要驚惶. do not be dismayed, O Isreal.
我定必從遠方把你們救岀, I will surely save you out of a distant place,
從被擄之地救你們的子孫. your descendants from the land of their exile.
雅各將重新得到平靖安寧, Jacob will again have peace and security ,
再也沒有人能把他們嚇倒. and no one will make him afraid.
28 雅各我的僕人啊! 不要懼怕; Do not fear , O Jacob my servant;
因我與你同在." 耶和華這樣宣示. for I am with you," declares the Lord.
"我雖必徹底毀滅 "Though I completely destroy all the nations
趕你們去的列國, among which I scatter you,
但不徹底毀滅你們, I will not completely destroy you.
而會公正管教你們, I will discipline you but only with justice;
不會放過你們不罰." I will not let you go entirely unpuniished,"
II. 非利士(47:1-7):
法老攻擊迦薩前, 耶和華有關非利士的話臨到先知耶利米, 耶和華這樣說:
2 看哪! 洪水從北方漲起, "See how the waters are rising in the north;
漸成波濤洶湧的洪流. they will become on overflowing torrent.
淹沒大地和地上一切, They will overflow the land and everything in it,
還有城邑和城中居民. the towns and those who live in them.
四野災民到處喊叫, The people will cry out;
地上居民無不哀哭, all who dwell in the land will wail
3 因聽見戰馬蹄聲急, at the sound of the hoofs of galloping steeds,
敵人的戰車聲隆隆, at the noise of enemy chariots and the rumble of their wheels.
父親雙手軟無力, Fathers will not turn to help their children;
無法照顧心愛兒. their hands will hang limp.
4 毀滅非利士的日子到了 For the day has come to destroy all the Philistines
助過推羅西頓者必剪除. and to cut off all survivors who could help Tyre and Sidon.
耶和華即將收拾非利士, The Lord is about to destroy the Philistines,
就是迦裴託島倖存的人. the remant from the costs of Caphtor.
5 迦薩剃頭表哀悼, Gaza will shave her head in mourning;
亞基實倫默無聲. Askelon will be silenced.
平原上的餘民哪! O remmant on the plain,
用刀自殘到幾時? how long will you cut yourselves?
6 "'耶和華的刀劍啊! "'Ah, sword of the Lord,' you cry,
要到幾時才停息? how long till you rest?
刀入鞘安靜勿動!' Return to your scabbard; cease and be still.'
7 但耶和華已命令, But how can it rest
攻擊亞實基倫和海岸, when the Lord has commanded it,
怎能違命停下來? when he has ordered it to attack Ashkelon and the coast?
III. 摩押(48:1-47):
有關摩押的話, 萬軍之耶和華以色列的神這樣說:
1 尼波有禍了! 立將成廢墟. "Woe to Nebo, for it will be ruined.
基列亭蒙必受羞辱佔領; Kiriathaim will be disgraced and captured;
米斯迦也必受羞辱粉碎. the stronghold will be disgraced and shattered.
2 摩押不再受到讚揚, Moab will be praised no more;
希實本有人陰謀推翻她: in Heshbon men will plot her downfall:
"來吧, 讓我們終結這國!" "Come, let us put an end to that nation."
摩押人啊! 你必靜默無聲; You too, O Madmen, will be silenced;
刀劍必追殺你. the sword will pursue you.
3 細聽何羅念傳來的哀號, Listen to the cries from Horonaim,
那是大破壞毀滅哀哭聲. cries of great havoc and destruction.
4 摩押將國破家亡, Moab will be broken;
孩童的哭聲震天. her little ones will cry out.
5 他們踏上魯希路, They go up the way to Luhith,
一路上痛哭哀號; weeping bitterly as they go;
在下何羅念途中, on the road down to Horonaim
懼城毀哭聲悽厲. anguished cries over the destruction are heard.
6 快跑吧趕緊逃命! Fleet! Run for your life;
你好像沙漠小樹. become like a bush in the desert.
7 因你靠行為財富, Since you trust in your deeds and riches,
你必城破被俘虜, you too will be taken captive,
基抹定必會被擄, and Chemosh will go into exile,
祭司臣宰逃不了. together with his priests and officials.
8 毀滅者攻略各城, The destroyer will come against every town,
無一城邑能逃脫. and not a town will escape.
山谷蹂躪成廢墟, The valley will be ruined
平原遭殃全毀滅, and the pleteau destroyed,
這是耶和華說的. because the Lord has spoken.
9 把鹽撒在摩押上, Put salt on Moab,
因摩押定必荒涼, for she will be laid waste;
城邑全都成廢墟, her towns will become desolate,
無人居住在其中. with no one to live in them.
10 不認真作耶和華工必受咒詛! A curse on him who is lax in doing the Lord's work!
不讓刀劍見血的也必受咒詛! A curse on him who keeps his sword from bloodshed!
11 "摩押自幼享安逸, "Moab has been at rest from youth,
如酒長留洒糟中, like wine left on its dregs,
未經壺壺輾轉倒, not poured from one jar to another -
原裝不動未外溢, she has not gone into exile.
香醇原味不改變. So he tastes as she did and her aroma is nuchanged.
12 然而日子終於到." But days are coming,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
"我終遣人來倒酒, "when I will send men who pour from jars,
把酒壺中倒出來; and they will pour her out;
而且把壺倒精光, they will empty her jars
最後把壺摔粉碎. and smash her jars.
13 摩押因基抹羞愧, Then Moab will be ashamed of Chemosh,
一如以色列家為 as the house of Isreal was ashamed
信靠伯特利蒙羞. when they trusted in Bethel.
14 你們怎能說: '我們是勇士, How can you say, 'We are warriors,
戰場驍勇善戰的戰士呢?' men valisnt in battle?'
15 摩押城邑被侵終滅亡, Moab will be destroyed and her towns invaded;
全國精壯都慘遭屠殺," her finest young men will go down in the slaughter,"
大君王萬軍之耶和華這樣宣示. declares the King, whose name is the Lord Almighty.
16 摩押傾覆在即, The fall of Moab is at hand;
災難速即到來. her calamity will come quickly.
17 居住周圍知她名者, Mourn for her, all who live around her,
你們都來為她哀悼; all who know her fame;
說: '大能權杖竟折斷, say, 'How broken is the mighty scepter,
榮耀手杖也失色!' how broken the glorious staff!'
18 底本的居民啊! "Come down from your glory
走下你們榮耀寶座, and sit on the parched ground,
坐在乾燥的焦土上. O inhabitants of the Daughter of Dibon
因為毀滅摩押的人, for he who destroys Moab
都要上來攻擊你們, will come up against you
摧毀你們堅固城邑. and ruin your fortified cities.
19 居住亞羅珥的人啊! Stand by the road and watch,
在路旁密切的觀看. you who live in Aroer.
問那些在逃命男女, Ask the man fleeting and the woman escaping,
究竟發生甚麼事啊?' ask them, 'what has happened?'
20 摩押已被摧毀蒙羞. Moab is disgraced for she is shattered.
痛哭哀號之聲震天! Wail and cry out!
亞嫩河畔大聲宣告: Announce by Arnon
摩押完被全毀滅了. that Moab is destroyed.
21 審判終臨到大平原: Judgmnet has come to the pleteau -
何頓、雅雜和米法押, to Hoden, Jahzah and Mephaath,
22 底本、尼波和伯底比拉太音, to Dibon, Nebo and Beth Diblathaim,
23 基列停、伯迦末和伯米恩, to Kiriathaim, Beth Gamul and Beth Meon,
24 加略和波斯拉. to Kerioh and Bozah -
即摩押遠近所有城邑. to all the towns of Moab, far and near.
25 摩押的角被砍下, Moab's horn is cut off,
雙臂也同被折斷," her arm is broken,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
26 "就讓她酩酊大醉吧! "Make her drunk,
因為她褻瀆耶和華. for she has defiled the Lord.
讓她在自己吐物打滾, Let Moab wallow in her vomit;
成為世人嘲笑的對象. let her be an object of ridicule.
27 你不曾嘲笑以色列嗎? Was not Isreal the object of your ridicule?
當她在眾賊被捉到時, Was she caught among thieves,
你只要談到這一椿事, that you shake your head in scorn
豈不都輕蔑大搖頭嗎? whenever you speak of her?
28 摩押的居民啊! Abandon your towns and dwell among the rocks,
放棄城邑住在岩穴中, you who live in Moab.
像鴿子在洞口築巢吧! Be like a dove that makes its nest at the mouth of cave.
29 我們聽過摩押人的驕傲, "We have heard of Moab's pride -
非常驕傲自負, her overweening pride and conceit,
更加狂妄傲慢 her pride and arrogance
心中目空一切. and the haughtiness of her heart.
30 我知他狂妄無禮盡徒然," I know her insolence but it is futile,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
"她狂妄跨大一事無成. "and her boast accomplish nothing.
31 因此我為摩押人哀號, Therefore I wail over Moab,
為整個摩押號淘大哭, for all Moab I cry out,
為吉珥哈列設人哀悼. I moan for the men of Kir Hareseth.
32 西比瑪的葡萄樹啊! I weep for you, as Jazer weeps,
我要像雅謝為你哀哭. O vines of Sibmah.
你的枝子延伸到海邊, Your branches spread as far as the sea;
一直伸展到雅謝海邊. they reached as far as the sea of Jazer.
毀滅者已來到要採摘 The destroyer has fallen
你成熟的果子和葡萄. on your ripened fruit and grapes.
33 摩押果園田野失歡樂; Joy and gladness are gone from the orchards and fields of Moab.
美酒停止從酒廠流出, I have stopped the flow of wine from the presses;
不再聽見喘酒歡樂聲. no one treads them with shouts of joy.
即使有喊叫聲傳出來, Although there are shouts,
也絕不是歡樂喊叫聲. they are not shouts of joy.
34 從希實本發出的哀號, "The sound of their cry rises
傳到以利亞利和雅雜; from Hashbon to Elealeh and Jahaz,
從瑣安直到何羅念 from Zoan as far as Horonaim
和伊基拉施利施亞, and Eglath Shelishiyah,
35 因寧林的河川乾涸, for even the waters of Nimrim are dried.
我要滅絕摩押所有 In Moab I will put an end
在邱壇獻祭和 to those who make offerings on the high places
向他們神燒香的人," and burn inscense to their gods,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
36 故我心為摩押哀傷如簫笛, "So my heart laments for Moab like flute;
為吉珥哈列設吹奏出哀歌. it laments like a flute for the men of Kir Hareseth.
他們擁有財富全化為烏有. The wealth they acquired is gone.
37 人人剃頭刮淨鬍鬚, Every head is shaved and every beard cut off;
手割傷腰間束麻布. every hand is slashed and every waist is covered with sackcloth.
38 摩押每間屋頂上和廣場上, On all the roofs in Moab and in the public squares,
因為我打碎摩押哀聲處處, there is nothing but mourning, for I have broken Moab
好像打碎了沒人要的瓦罐," like a jar that no one wants,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
39 "摩押毀滅得多慘! "how shattered she is!
哭號得多麼哀傷! How they wail!
轉身受辱有多大! How Moab turns her back in shame!
摩押成嘲笑對象, Moab has become an object of ridicule,
令周圍的人恐懼." an object of horror to all those around her."
耶和華這樣說: This is what the Lord says:
40 看哪, 老鷹正向下俯衝! "Look! An eagle is swooping down,
展開雙翅要抓摩押, spreading its wings over Moab.
41 迦略必被攻取, Kerioth will be captured
堅壘必被佔領. and the strongholds taken.
到那日, 摩押戰士心苦痛, In that day the hearts of Moab's warriors
有如臨盆產婦心絞痛. will be like the heart of a woman in labor.
42 摩押毀滅不成國, Moab will be destroyed as a nation
因她褻瀆耶和華. because she defiled the Lord.
摩押百姓啊! Terror and pit and snare await you,
恐怖阱網等你們," O People of Moab,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
44 驚惶中逃跑的必掉陷阱, "Whoever flees from the terror will fall into a pit,
爬出陷阱的必被網捕捉; whoever climbs out of the pit will be caught in a snare;
因我將懲罰之年降摩押." for I will bring upon Moab the year of her punishment."
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
45 在希實本陰影下, In the shadow of Heshbon
難民孤立又無援; the fugitives stand helpless,
因希實本陷火海, for a fire has gone out from Heshbon,
西宏中火焰沖天, ablaze from the midst of Sihon;
燒到摩押額前頭, it burns the foreheads of Moab,
即吵鬧者的頭顱. the skull of the noisy boasters.
46 摩押啊, 你們有禍了! Woe to you, O Moab!
基抹的百姓全消滅, The people of Chemosh are destroyed;
你們的男兒都被擄, your sons are taken into exile
你們的女兒成俘虜. and your daughters into captivity.
47 "只要日子－到, "Yet I will restore the fortunes of Moab
我必恢復摩押福祉," in days to come,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
有關摩押審判的話到此為止. Here ends the judgment on Moab.
IV. 亞捫(49:1-6):
有關亞捫, 耶和華這樣說:
1 "以色列沒有子孫嗎? "Has Isreal no sons?
"以色列沒有後裔嗎? Has she no heir?
那為何米勒公能擁有迦得呢? Why then has Molech taken possession of Gad?
他的人民能住在他們的城邑? Why do his people live in its towns?
2 但日子終於到了!" But the days are coming,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
"我必響起戰爭號角, "when I will sound the battle cry
去攻擊亞捫的拉巴; against Rabbah of Ammonites;
使拉巴成廢墟亂土, it will become a mound of ruins,
四圍村莊陷入火海. and its surrounding villages will be set on fire.
以色列必趕走 Then Isreal will drive out those who drove her out,"
耶和華這樣說. says the Lord.
3 "希實本啊, 哀號吧! Wai, O Heshbon ,
艾城已滅毀! for Ai is destroyed!
拉巴居民啊, 痛哭吧! Cry, O inhabitants of Rabbah!
穿上麻衣表哀悼, Put on sackcloth and mourn;
在城內來往奔走, rush here and there inside the walls,
因米勒公與祭司 for Molech will go into exile,
和首領都必被擄 together with his priests and officials.
4 悖逆的人啊! Why do you boast of your valleys,
你們為何為物產 boast of your valleys so fruitful?
豐饒的村莊吹噓? O unfaithful daughter,
你們靠自己財富, you trust in your riches and say,
說: '誰會來攻擊我?' Who will attack me?'
5 我必使四圍的列國 I will bring terror on you
群起殘酷攻擊你們," from all those around you,"
萬軍之耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord, the Lord Almighty.
你們必被驅逐逃命, "Every one of you will be driven away,
無人出來招聚遊民. and no one will gather the fugitives.
6 "但日後, "Yet afterward,
我必恢復亞捫福祉," I will restore the fortunes of the Ammonites,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
V. 以東(49:7-22):
有關以東, 耶和華這樣說:
7 "提幔中難道不再有智慧? "Is there no longer wisdom in Teman?
智者難道都才窮智短嗎? Has counsel perished from the prudent?
他們的智慧難道都朽壞? Has their wisdom decayed?
8 底但的居民啊! Turn and flee, hide in deep caves,
快轉身逃跑藏入深洞; you who live in Dedan,
因我必降災禍懲以掃 for I will bring disaster on Esau at the time I punish him.
9 若採葡萄者來到你園中, If grape pickers came to you
他們豈會留下幾顆不摘? would they not leave a few grapes?
又若小偷黑夜光臨府上, If thieves came during the night,
他們豈會只偷想要偷的? would they not steal only as much as they wanted?
10 但我必把以掃剝得精光, But I will strip Esau bare;
必會發現他所有藏寶處; I will uncover his hiding places,
使他絲毫不能隱藏自己. so that he cannot conceal himself.
其兒女親戚鄰舍全消滅, His children, relatives and neighbors will perish,
從此他完全消失無影蹤. and he will be no more.
11 留下你的孤兒我會保護. Leave your orphans; I will protect their lives.
你的寡婦也一併交託我." Your widow too can trust in me."
耶和華這樣說: "那不該喝那杯的一定要喝, 你豈能免受責罰? 我指著自己發誓,
你必定受罰, 一定要喝." 耶和華這樣宣示. "波斯拉必成廢墟和恐怖、責備和咒詛對象;
他的所有城邑, 永成廢墟."
14 我從耶和華那裏聽見信息: I have heard a message from the Lord:
有使者已派出對列國宣示: An envoy was sent to the nations to say,
"你們要集結攻擊! "Assemble yourselves to attack it!
趕快挺起來戰鬥!" Rise up for battle!"
15 "我使你在列國渺小, "Now I will make you small among the nations,
在世人之中被藐視. despised among men.
16 你的威嚇和狂傲心, The terror you inspire
都是在欺騙你自己; and the pride of your heart have deceived you,
你住在岩石縫穴中, you who live in the clefts of the rocks,
高據在山邱的高處. who occupy the heights of the hill.
你雖如鷹高處築巢, Though you build your nest as high as the eagle's,
我也能把你打下來," from there I will bring you down,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
17 以東必成恐怖襲擊目標, Edom will become an object of horror;
受創非常嚴重面目全非, all who pass by will be appalled and will scoff
過路的人莫不驚骸嘲笑. because of all its wounds.
18 以東定必傾覆如所多瑪 As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown,
和蛾摩拉及其城邑一樣." along with their neighboring towns,"
耶和華這樣宣示. declares the Lord.
"沒有人住在那裏 "So no one will live there;
也無人安頓其中 no man will dwell in it.
19 像頭猛獅從約旦叢林躍出, "Like a lion coming up from Jordan's thickets
在肥美的草場上橫衝直撞, to a rich pastureland,
我照樣頃刻間把以東逐出. I will chase Edom from its land in an instant.
並揀選委任誰治理此地呢? Who is the chosen one I will appoint for this?
誰能像我又誰能來挑戰我? Who is like me and who can challenge me?
那個牧人能在我面前站立? And what shepherd can stand against me?"
20 因此, 聽聽耶和華進攻以東計劃 Therefore, hear what the Lord has planned against Edom,
看衪如何對付居提幔的人: what he has purposed against those who live in Teman:
羊群中幼小的全部被拖走, The young of the flock will be dragged away;
更把他們的草場完全毀滅. he will completely destroy their pasture because of them.
21 他們傾覆的聲音震驚全地, At the sound of their fall the earth will tremble;
痛哭哀號之聲竟直達紅海 their cry will resound to the Red Sea.
